Who can benefit from adult day center services?

  • Members of Almost Home Adult Day Center are adults who may not require continuous care of a hospital or other institution but need help to function within their own home or community.
  • Individuals who are partially dependent on others for assistance with daily living tasks can count on the excellent staff of Almost Home.
  • People who may be physically or mentally impaired can enjoy being successful at activities they enjoy.
  • Individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia feel accepted and respected during their visits to Almost Home.
  • Respite Services is given to families or caregivers. They can maintain their own health and strength, which their loved one depends on.

 

What happens at Almost Home Adult Day Center?

  • Almost Home is a place where you can spend the day and receive a hot meal and snacks (specific dietary needs are met). You can enjoy the companionship of others. Group and one-to-one activities promote the development of friendships.
  • Daily activities provide motivation, creative expression and increased self-esteem. This may include music, writing, crafts, painting, dancing, gardening, baking, reminiscing, community events, holiday celebrations ~ all designed to offer a feeling of success.
  • Daily exercise programs enhance health and happiness.
  • Dignified assistance and support are offered, including any personal care assistance needed.
  • Health monitoring is offered each day.
  • Transportation and assistance are provided as needed.
  • Members come from Price, Ashland and Iron Counties.
  • Many members receive funding to attend Almost Home from County Human Services Programs or other sources.
  • Almost Home is state certified and has been in the community since 1989.
  • Almost Home Adult Day Center is open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. (closed on holidays)
  • Half Days (Four hours or less) are also available.
  • Almost Home Adult Day Center is located on Hwy 13 North in Park Falls

Avoid "cabin fever." Get out for the day!

Do it for your family. This is one day they will not need to worry about you.

Do it to be healthy! Staff of the day center can help you with any assistance you may need. For example, they can remind you about your medications or help you understand your diet as prescribed by your doctor. Staff knows how to make sure you are safe.

Are you worried about how to get there? Don't be. We can pick you up and get you back home safely.
